With a background in mental health counseling\, 22 years as a public-school visual arts teacher\, and three years at Elizabethtown College helping establish the Art Education major\, he brings both educational and relational depth to his work. He offers private studio instruction for youth and adults and serves as Executive Director of The Lancaster Academy for the Performing Arts. For four years he has led thematic and seasonal painting experiences in Lancaster County retirement communities\, including memory care\, personal care\, and healthcare units.
